Indexes to Upper Canada Records

Tracing your roots in Upper Canada (Ontario 1791-1841) can be difficult as there are few colony-wide records to search and few indexes to those that do exist. It is my goal to remedy this situation by creating indexes for the most useful records of the period.

Indexes to the following sets of records are now available, exclusively from Upper Canada Genealogy:

  • District Jail Records

          Gore District Debtors      Now Online!

  • Upper Canada Sundries      Now Online!

  • Names in Prince Edward County

Women's Wills & Estate Files, 1859-1900      Now Online!

  • Pre-1850 Ontario Township Censuses

  • Miscellaneous Name Lists

These indexes are in the process of being uploaded to the site. For those indexes that are not online I will fill requests for searches by e-mail. Just email me the details of your request and I will reply with the results of your search within 7 days. Search results provide the full name(s) of the individuals mentioned in the records, the year of the event, location (if known), and the type of record.

Fee Based Services

Should you decide, after searching the indexes or receiving the results of your free index search, that you would like to order a copy of the original documents in which your ancestor's name appears, I can retrieve the documents for you. The fee for this service is $25 per document (limit of 10 pages).

To order, please email me the details of your request.
