Gore District Debtors Gaol Records

This index provides the names of all the people confined to the Gore District Gaol (in Hamilton) on account of unpaid debts (defendants) and the people to whom they owed money (plaintiffs), for the period 1832 to 1849. The original register also includes the amount of the debt, the specific dates of committal and discharge, and the names of the judge and attorneys involved.
